St. Petersburg (nicknamed by locals as "St. Pete") is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, known as a vacation destination for North American and European vacationers. Located on a peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it is connected to the mainland to the north, the city of Tampa to the east by causeways and bridges across Tampa Bay, and to Bradenton in the south by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge (Interstate 275), which traverses the mouth of the bay. It is also served by Interstates 175 and 375, which branch off I-275 into the southern and northern areas of downtown, respectively. The Gandy Bridge was the first causeway to be built across Tampa Bay, connecting St. Petersburg and Tampa cities without a circuitous 43-mile trip around the Bay through Oldsmar. The city was named by Peter Demens, who was instrumental in bringing the terminus of a railroad there in 1888; Saint Petersburg, Russia, is where Peter Demens spent half of his youth; so, Demens named the city after his birthplace.
No doubt Demens had some priceless Faberge Eggs he needed to keep in safe storage when he got to his "new" St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, there were no self storage facilities back then, but today, St. Petersburg has ten safe and affordable locations throughout the city, including Budget Self Storage-49th Street, North (4495 49th Street, North), right outside Kenneth City in northwest St. Petersburg. Due north of St. Pete and easily accessed from Gandy Boulevard North (Highway 694) is Budget Self Storage-94th Avenue, North (1159 94th Avenue, North) for all of your self storage needs. Back in northwest St. Petersburg, look for ample storage options at Extra Closet-Anvil Street, North (2401 Anvil Street, North) located one block from Tyrone Square. Also north of St. Pete, affordable self storage can be found at Public Storage-34th Street, North (4500 34th Street, North) in between Windsor Boulevard and 46th Avenue North. Also on 34th Street, look for Public Storage-34th Street, South at 1400 34th Street, South (Highway 19), west of the Mel-Tan and Wildwood Heights neighborhoods, and convenient to Intestate 275.
In the northwest neighborhood Bonnie Bay, look for self storage availability at Public Storage-66th Street North (5880 66th Street, North) at the intersection of 58th Avenue, North and 66th Street, North. Northwest of the Euclid Place/St. Paul and southwest of Ponce De Leon, Safeguard Self Storage-22nd Avenue, North (2501 22nd Avenue, North) offers great storage at great prices. In southwest St. Pete, less than one mile northeast of Marina Harbour is Stormax Self Storage-34th Street, South (4250 34th Street, South) ), making this location the ideal storage facility for storing all of your water sport and/or boating equipment. Back in northwest St. Pete and roughly two miles north of Busch Baseball Complex; look for Tyrone Mini Storage Center-38th Avenue, North (7750 38th Avenue, North), just before 78th Street, North intersects 38th Avenue, North (heading west.) At the intersection of 22nd Street North and 21st Avenue, North, look for U-stor-21st Avenue, North (2160 21st Avenue, North) for all of your storage needs, large or small. Within St. Petersburg, these ten self storage locations are sure to meet (or exceed) all of your "extra space" needs!
